Kerri Yamashita, has been a special prosecutor since 2013. She has handled more than fifteen thousand cases as a prosecutor and hundreds more throughout her twenty-six year career as a litigator.
In 2022, Ms. Yamashita founded Nationwide Seminars LLC for the purpose of offering court diversionary opportunities to youthful offenders. Since that time, thousands of students have successfully completed National Safety Council certified courses.
Ms. Yamashita has been a member of the Mid-Hudson Chapter of WBASNY (“MHWBA”) for more than fifteen years. She served as an officer of the MHWBA for several years, including serving as President from 2013 to 2014 and 2023 to 2024. She served on several WBASNY Committees including Ethics, Legislation, Criminal Law, Nominations and Awards.
Ms. Yamashita was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is an alumna of Vassar College and obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Boston University School of Law in 1998 with honors in the concentration of Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Ms. Yamashita resides in Rhinebeck, New York with her husband and their daughter, and two cats that are occasionally friendly. She loves running (very slowly) in 5k races, snowboarding and taking girls trips with her daughter.
