Highlights of Presidency:
My presidency of WBASNY was a year of challenges as we powered through our second year of COVID-19. We celebrated by hosting our first, and hopefully only, virtual Convention providing a space for our members to stay connected. During this period we made efforts to rebuild our structure: retaining a new lobbying firm, retaining a new accounting firm, and rebuilding our website. We also implemented our Long-Range Plan which adapted to our needs and provided for in-person, as well as virtual board meetings. As the pandemic came to a close, we used our power to empower those around us by presenting new career opportunities, reimagining our careers, and providing mentoring to young members of the profession. We continued to support legislation in Albany, issued press releases signed on to a record number of amicus briefs, and collaborated with the NYC Bar Association to develop a list-serv of Mediators in NYS. As always, the Officers, Committee Chairs, and members displayed their dedication to WBASNY and resilience as they rose to every challenge. It was my privilege and honor to serve as President during this challenging time in our history.
