Highlights of Presidency:

After many years of tireless advocacy, my term as President began in celebration of the enactment of the Marriage Equality Act on June 24, 2011.

Another highlight was WBASNY’s Supreme Court Admission on December 5, 2011.

Throughout my term, I challenged our members to engage in the process of electing women to public office and promoting women in the judiciary. WBASNY presented testimony before the New York Commission on Judicial Nomination expressing confidence that  the state could maintain the highest standards of competence within our judiciary without sacrificing the valuable goal of increased diversity. We also wrote letters to the Governor and to Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand supporting the appointment of women to judicial vacancies and celebrated several members elected and appointed to our state and federal courts.
