Tribute to Sandra Katz

In addition to her wonderful service as President of WBASNY (1993-1994), Sandra C. (”Sandy”) Katz is owed a tremendous debt of gratitude for her initiation of the yearly dinner for the Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert (JALBCA) , which, under her farsighted vision, has become today’s tremendously important and successful event. The first JALBCA dinner took place at The Water’s Edge restaurant. It was a marvelous evening of friendship and collegiality complete with favors. (Do you still have your JALBCA umbrella?) When we outgrew that venue, Sandy set up the necessary support and participation, by some of the city’s leading law firms and institutions, to allow the dinner to become the premier fundraising event it is today. No detail escaped her careful attention! In short, a huge vote of thanks is due to Sandra Katz for her groundbreaking and irreplaceable work for JALBCA.
