WBASNY Denounces the Decision to Remove Recognition of Transgender Women and Men from the Stonewall National Monument Website

New York, NY, Thursday, March 6, 2025 – The Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (“WBASNY”), the largest women’s bar association in the United States, whose mission is to improve the status of women in society and to promote the fair and equal administration of justice, is committed to advocating for equality and fair treatment of all people. This includes support for the rights of transgender women and men and others who are gender diverse. WBASNY strongly opposes efforts to deny their right to be recognized as respected members of our society who are entitled to the full protection of the law. WBASNY denounces arbitrary actions such as removing mention from the Stonewall National Monument website people who have played an important role in fighting against discrimination. WBASNY remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting continuing efforts to protect the rights and freedoms of all people.
