(New York, NY, Tuesday, June 1, 2021) – The Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY) applauds Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s nominations of Hon. Madeline Singas, District Attorney-Nassau County, and Hon. Anthony Cannataro to fill the vacancies in the New York State Court of Appeals.

WBASNY acknowledges the record of District Attorney Madeline Singas and thanks her for decades of public service, advocacy on behalf of children, support of women’s rights, and record of sensitivity to issues of gender and racial equality.  Likewise, WBASNY salutes Hon. Anthony Cannataro for his dedicated service to the bench ensuring access to the courts, the fair and equal administration of justice, and steadfast service to the Bar.  District Attorney Singas and Judge Cannataro have long been active in and supportive of the Association.

WBASNY looks forward to the timely confirmation of Hon. Singas and Hon. Cannataro by the New York State Senate.
